#immortal channel rules

April 16th, 2012 by DrRen No comments »

There has been some talk amongst the users and channel operators as far as rules are concerned; I’m going to lay down the general basics:

#immortal channel rules and regulations, in addition to all the immortalirc.net / alphachat.net rules

—————————–
Purpose:
—————————–

Understand that the chat room is *not* a room for support. The chat room is an extension to
the community and social end of immortalirc.net, and is not to be used for support queries. If you need support, please join #Help.

—————————–
Channel Operators/Admins (% and @ and & / along with ~)
—————————–

These users will be moderating the chat room in accordance with the chat room rules.
Please respect them. If you put them on ignore, or don’t reply in a timely fashion
to their queries, then that is your problem and you may face consequences because of it.

Operators, admins, etc are designated by their icons in the chatroom.

—————————–
Ground rules:
—————————–

You will be issued 1 verbal warning to stop or never do said action again if you are found to be in violation of the rules.
Continue, and your punishment may result in a kick.

If you persist, a ban for any determined amount of time will be issued.

1. Do not spam. Pasting the same message over and over, flooding, etc. It’s against network terms as well. Stupid messages can also count as spam, for example “Hi what’s up?”, spammer: “aweji43hufsuhdauhfds OMG”, other guy: “Notthin much, you?”, spammer: “LMAO OMG U GUISE SUX”

2. Don’t advertise. (unless permitted to do so by a channel operator @ and above)

3. While Xrated discussions are allowed in the chatroom, we ask that you don’t post pornography, or anything obscene. (it’s acceptable to an extent, over exceeding will be asked to stop)

4. Swearing is allowed in the chat room. If you find yourself offended, please /part #immortal.

5. Our policy on bots is that you cannot have them in the room unless you ask an op for permission. That includes auto responders or other bot-like features that you’ve added to your own client.

6. Nick changes are fine unless +N is on, but if you’re constantly changing your nick, that could be considered spam.

7. Don’t troll or flame. If you have personal issues with someone else, KEEP IT OUT OF THE ROOM. If found trolling/flaming in #immortal, you risk any comments/trolling you may receive in return.

8. Racist, and other discriminatory comments/content is tolerated but should not be directed towards any specific member. If it’s found being abused, said user in racism/discrimination will face the consequences. If for some reason you find yourself being offended by such remarks, please /part #immortal. This rule also plays an effect with rule #7.

9. Don’t ask for support in #immortal. Support questions should be posted in the proper chatroom in #Help.

10. Don’t ban evade if you have been. You’re only risking yourself being zlined from the entire server. Consider this your warning.

11. Report chat issues in private via /query to one of the OPs or email [email protected] if you think there is improper conduct in the chat room. Logs of the conversation *must* be provided. Don’t report issues in the chat room itself, it will only start a flamewar.

ImmortalIRC Progresses Forward

March 16th, 2012 by DrRen No comments »

Progessing…

With the hard times of IRC coming about us, ImmortalIRC still continues to move forward with AlphaChat and advance with users. Currently ImmortalIRC still lives in #immortal and you are more than welcome to join us in our discussions by visiting our chat page, or webchat page, as both lead you to the right destination.

Staff Changes…

With the progression and advancing of ImmortalIRC, being linked with AlphaChat, we had to make some changes. Our known IRC Operator Ichigo was let go for personal reasons and we hope that one day he will return back to the ImmortalIRC staff team! In addition, Dark_Aaron was hired onto the Immortal.FL.US.AlphaChat.net server and has so far been a great addition to the server. Stay tuned for more information to come as ImmortalIRC continues to advance forward!

Farewell, PokeTD/ExileNET – Changes…

February 20th, 2012 by DrRen No comments »

Parting of the PokeTD Community…

Parting is never a fun deal. We’ve come a long way and had a lot experiences during the run with #poketd. We wish the best wishes for the PokeTD community as they part ways with ImmortalIRC. They’ve showed us some good times, and made the community loads of fun. We’ll miss them, and hope on their journey, they find a nice server to hang out on. Thanks for the good times, PokeTD Staff and members. We hope to keep contact. :)

Linking with another Network…

ImmortalIRC begins a new beginning with its users, along with the users on ImmortalIRC. Parting with ExileNET wasn’t easy as the owner, evul, has been good to both I, DrRen, and sysErroR. We hope the best of luck to ExileNET on their journey as an IRC network. We still want to personally thank evul for the logo ExileNET had made for ImmortalIRC, and you can find them @ this link.

Other information…

With the changes going around and the consistent upkeep of the ImmortalIRC servers, things are looking promising for the 2012 year. Linking in with AlphaChat, we’ve had to let go of some well-known IRC Administrators/IRC Operators. We thank them for the dedication and support they have done with the ImmortalIRC network. It was a tough choice pick and choosing the staff to keep, and which ones to go. We want to personally thank Killuminati for his support and dedication on the Hell.FL.US.ImmortalIRC.NET as for being the only admin that administrated it for the longest time, being around when other staff was not present to give the server your time and devotion. We also want to personally thank Pancakes and Orihime for their dedication on Heaven.UK.EU.ImmortalIRC.NET and Hell.FL.US.Immortal.NET. We recently picked up Pancakes for the upkeep in users, but due to the recent changes that have taken place, we’ve had to let them both go. Pancakes was a great OPER, along with Orihime. We acquired Orihime from the IRC Network RPIRC.NET and just took over running the chatroom/server for them. We’ll continue supporting Killuminati, Pancakes, and Orihime in the adventures of IRC.

We’ve also renamed one of our servers, and dropped one (due to not needing it). The following servers are as standing;

Heaven.UK.EU.ImmortalIRC.NET - This server will be missed, as it was our IPv6 way of connecting to the ImmortalIRC networks. Though as times got rough, downtime poured, Heaven still remained our most stable machine as Hell went through some router changes (replacement) in the past. It was a great server, and one day, hope to get it back.

Hell.FL.US.ImmortalIRC.NET - This server will be following us through the move as it’s the dedicated server of the ImmortalIRC Network. However the name will be changing, we hope everyone to follow. It’s had a long run with us so far, surviving with us since the late 2010′s in October, Hell has shown ImmortalIRC it’s true dedicated self. During the transition, Hell.FL.US.ImmortalIRC.NET will be renamed to, Immortal.FL.US.AlphaChat.net. We hope to see big changes to the ImmortalIRC network, and still, welcome all users that wish to join us in this adventure.

That’s all for now.

We do claim to have a drama free network, with the side exceptions of it slipping every so often (as it’s hard to avoid most drama inflicted issues), however they are taken care of ASAP without any disturbance to the network. The network staff here at ImmortalIRC is reputable to the extent of knowing what to do if things go down, how to handle situations, and experienced in the IRCd/Services that ImmortalIRC uses. From the creators, DrRen, and john, our general mission is to make everyone feel welcome, and to feel like everyone is respected on the server.
